Shirley Mann provides strategic, commercially focused legal advice to clients dealing with payment disputes, delays, defects, performance bond issues, and contract terminations. With practical experience, she delivers clear, cost-effective solutions aligned with clients’ business goals. In addition to dispute resolution, she offers support in contract review and negotiation, helping clients manage legal risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Familiar with all major construction contract forms used in South Africa, including JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC, and bespoke agreements, Shirley’s practice spans both commercial and infrastructure sectors, including residential, commercial, and large-scale public works projects.
Shirley began her legal career in general practice, working on private matters, criminal cases, and insurance-related personal injury and car accident claims. She has experience in civil and commercial litigation in the High Court of South Africa, as well as in alternative dispute resolution procedures. Shirley has worked on several high-profile cases, including multibillion-Rand projects at the Medupi and Kusile Power Stations.
